Password Protection Tips:
  • User Password: Required to open and view the PDF
  • Owner Password: Required to make modifications (printing, copying, editing)
  • Use strong passwords with mix of letters, numbers, and symbols
  • Passwords are case-sensitive
  • Don't forget your passwords - encrypted PDFs cannot be recovered without the password
  • Keep your passwords secure and don't share them publicly
How it works: Your PDF will be encrypted using industry-standard encryption (256-bit or AES). The original content and formatting are preserved. All processing happens securely on our servers and files are deleted after processing.

📝 Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between User and Owner passwords?

User Password: Required to open and view the PDF. When opening with the user password, users cannot print, copy text, or modify the document - these operations are restricted.

Owner Password: Bypasses all restrictions. Use this password to open the PDF with full permissions (printing, copying, modifying, etc.). If you don't provide an owner password, a secure one is automatically generated.

Are my files secure?

Yes, we use industry-standard encryption to protect your PDFs. Files are processed securely on our servers and automatically deleted after conversion. We don't store or access your documents.

What if I forget the password?

Unfortunately, encrypted PDFs cannot be accessed without the correct password. There is no recovery method once a PDF is encrypted. Store your passwords in a secure location.

Can I protect multiple PDFs at once?

Currently, you can protect one PDF at a time. If you need to protect multiple files, you can repeat the process for each file.

What encryption method do you use?

We use AES-256 bit encryption, which is the same level of security used by government institutions and banks.

Can I remove the password later?

To remove password protection, you need the owner password. Then you can use PDF viewer tools to remove the protection if needed.

Privacy: Your files are processed securely on our server and are automatically deleted after processing. We do not store or share your documents.
